Static Website Web Design by Shoestring Websites
Static websites can be a cheap alternative for those requiring small websites and/or websites that will not change often.
What is a Static Website?
In the world of web design, “static” refers to a page that, once written, does not change. This is opposed to “dynamic”, which means elements of a page can vary.
I often receive calls from customers who are looking a for a cheap website, who don’t want to pay for a full blown CMS website solution. That’s why I offer static web design.
How Much?
I charge £75 per page (exc. VAT).
I also suggest that you purchase a domain name and web hosting from us, but you are welcome to buy these elsewhere if you wish. My prices are very reasonable, with hosting starting at £17 per year (exc. VAT) for a small website and domain names starting at £3.50 per year (exc. VAT) for a .co.uk address.
What Do I Get?
- Professionally designed page(s)
- Fixed rate per page
- Internal SEO as standard
- One month FREE support after go-live
The Advantages of a Static Website Design?
In the past I have been approached by people looking for a single page for their company which literally tells the customer who they are and how to contact them. The page would not need to change for the foreseeable future and no additional pages would need to be added. No point in paying for a full blown content management system, so they just wanted a cheap static page.
For websites with fewer than 4 pages, unless you know you will need lots of changes or new pages in the near future, I recommend a static web design as it can save you money.
The disadvantages?
Once a static page has been written you will only be able to change the page if you have a knowledge of HTML and/or CSS. Otherwise you will need to pay a web designer to make the changes on your behalf.
However to mitigate this we charge reduced rates on websites that we have supplied.
